New purchase: M&P

Picked up my S&W M&P today. Went with the 9mm pro series with 5 inch barrel. I was thinking of getting the core model but I don't ever see myself using a red dot sight on a handgun. 17+1 is not too bad of a deal either.

Thanks, the gun feels and points naturally, looking forward to putting it to work.

I wish they would make a .45 pro series with a 12 or 13 round capacity, some reason they want to stick to 9 & 40 for the pro series models.

How's the trigger out of the box? My M&P's were a little gritty but after drying firing it for awhile it's actually pretty nice now.

Congrats on the new gun, check your extractor though, my M&P9 had extractor issues and it's causing ftf with some ammo, the spring was too tight and I had to cut a coil from it and file down the extractor a tiny bit to make the problem go away. Other than that, it's a great pistol!

Apex FSS & RAM made a world of difference for me, so it may be worth checking into for you.

My M&P is surprisingly more accurate than my Gen 4 G17. My M&P is a 2010 model, so the only modification I made is installing a APEX RAM to get an audible and tactile effect just like the Glocks.

I shoot a fullsize mp 9mm and love it. I've put over 6500 rounds through it and have only had one failure to feed because I shot the gun dry and have only had to replace the guide rod and spring. They are great guns.

has anyone here actually installed the apex trigger system? i just bought one as well and compared to my glocks, the trigger install was ridiculously complicated.

i went for the flat faced trigger that just came out. its pretty badass but damn, that install was crazy.
