    1911 trigger length

What trigger length do you prefer short, medium, or long?
I prefer a medium length trigger with a flat msh. I have small to medium sized hands.

Long triggers feel better to me and I always use non-arched MSHs. The flat trigger faces also feel pretty good.

The choice depends on the size of your hands and the length of your fingers. I prefer an STI short trigger and a flat MSH.

Medium triggers were my preference as someone with smaller hands., over time pending the purpose and use for each 1911 I own; now I have one of each - short, medium, and long triggers .. That said, I do have more 1911's with medium triggers YMMV

I seem to go back and forth on this one. Right now, I like a medium length trigger for my 1911. There was a stretch when I changed the triggers on all my 1911's to short. I liked it, but gravitated towards medium length again.

As far as MSH, non-arched all the way, whether checkered, serrated, smooth or bobbed.

Medium is perfect for me. My favorite trigger is the Wilson combat one, as it has the pre travel adjustment tabs. I really wish sti made a medium trigger.

Long smooth trigger with arched msh is most comfortable for me.

I shoot left with a long trigger and dead center with a short trigger. Shooters with small to medium sized hands benefit a lot with the flexibility of a 1911.

Um... so this is a little embarassing but what is width of the standard three hole trigger found on most 1911s? I had always assumed that the standard three hole trigger found with most 1911s was the "medium" width but based on a google search it seems that is the "long" trigger?

most all 1911's come with a long trigger. Swapping it out is pretty easy. If I remember I used a cylinder and slide trigger with a smooth face

Hmmm... I also thought it was medium, as I have seen long triggers (or at least I thought they were long).

In any case, I currently prefer that trigger length and switched back to that from short triggers about 10 months ago.

I like the short trigger personally. But there's nothing like a 1911 trigger s, m, or long.

Huh, so I got home and found the medium Harrison Design trigger I bought but didn't install yet. Compared it to the stock trigger I took out of my Dan Wesson and it would appear that the DW trigger is indeed wider.

Guess it's time to find out of I like a medium trigger...
