    SP2022 variations in California?

    Friends,

I already own an SP2022 with the black Nitron slide... I noticed from Sig's site that they also sell this gun in a two-tone and an FDE finish, though I can't recall having seen these for sale in California. Are these variations available here?

I checked the DOJ roster, and it only lists "blued" SP2022s... I can't imagine the color makes much of a difference in the functioning of the weapon, but I do see other Sigs, the P220R for example, listed by livery...

Besides a custom paint job, is there any way to get the varied parts in California?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You could get a different colored slide and parts like mag release or slide stop, but the actual frame being the "firearm", can't be ordered in anything but black unless it's on roster (it's not afaik), or you're LEO.

Could always cerakote it though. Not illegal to change the color.

Different color gun= different model number. The beloved roster is based on model numbers, so the color does matter. And you are right, the color does not change the function of the weapon, but the people created the roster has never cared about gun functions, it is about restrictions and back door bans.

Once in your possession, you can legally change the gun color. Or you can buy of roster gun from LEO /for them the roster is colorblind, they can have pink guns/.

Do not try to find logic behind the roster, there is none.

        Different model numbers... makes sense.

I suppose cerakoting some parts is better than having, say, two slides for the same gun...

        Thanks for the input!
