Fanboys suck. Ruin it for everything. They just regurgitate what they read on the interweb.
I see... Fanboys suck because they prefer 17-round mags to 10-round mags?

He legally owns high-capacity Glock magazines, however his Glock doesn't fit his hands well.
Trying a Gen4 which has a smaller grip would seem like a logical thing to do to me....

Sorry it ruins it for you.

My most recent purchase is a CZ 75SA. I am really pleased with it's ergonomics and even with the factory trigger. It's far above the 75B I already owned. The biggest problem is that I let the wife try it - now I need to get another one. I like it almost as much as my 9mm 1911s, and the CZ is on the roster. Bud's has them in stock.

I have a pile of Glocks, and learned to shoot them well.

Have you tried an M&P? Striker-fired, it's grip is thinner and more ergonomic than the Glock's.
And it's grip angle, like the Model 41, is based on the 1911... so it points more naturally for me.

I held a xd tactical in my hand for a long time. Kept going back and forth between it and a g19. Both are nice guns! Ended up with the g19 though. Try out the xd or modify your g17 would be my suggestion.

FNS 9. Check out Hickok45 review. He basically said, if he couldn't buy glocks he would have the FNS . I have an FNS9 and it fits my have great.

I know the real answer is, "go rent one and find out" (and I will), but can anyone comment on the difference in feel and action between a striker-fired and a SA pistol? I imagine it's not as striking (!) as between the DA and SA pull on a revolver.
My first handgun was a G17. When I went from that to a hammer-fired pistol it felt like the pulling of the trigger to bang time was slightly slower in the hammer-fired pistol. I have no scientific proof, it's just a feel.

I am not a fan of Glocks as they are not comfortable to shoot for me. I much prefer a Steyr either M or L series. They fit my hand perfectly and are amazingly accurate for me. I also prefer the trigger.

I realize one would be difficult to obtain but I feel very well worth it if it fits you. Probably one of the best performing overlooked platforms out there although some people can't get past the triangle sights.

Lol. Mags? Gen4...pfft...very slightly better no drastic improvement. And what about the sf versions.....wait...its Still Fat...~2mm-ish change wtf .And Oh and wait a minute. Whats the point of the g42? Its customers wanted a 9mm not the complete opposite. Then after their massive internez moaning and whining, they finally released g43. Great customer service! A mfg that actually cares lol.

I think your best bet is trying a Gen4 with a beavertail. It allows a little different hand position. There are better fitting options available, but nothing trumps those 17 round mags.

You mentioned a straight up trade, but also mentioned a BHP. That definitely wouldn't be an even trade, so I'd say try a PPQ2 or a VP9. I have both and the grips are similar. Both are MUCH better than a Glock...and I shoot Glocks more than anything else. I'm partial to the PPQ over the HK because the trigger is nicer.
