I have a glock 20 and it's OK. The recoil from the 10mm round can be a bit stiff if you shoot full power rounds, but otherwise it shoots OK. I replaced the stock barrel with an aftermarket barrel with lands and grooves to shoot coated bullets since the ploygonal rifling of the glock barrel doesn't stabilize soft bullets like coated bullets. I don't know how the glock 20 compares to other glocks since it's the only glock I own, but compared to my EAA Witness in 10mm, the grip is not as comfortable as the Witness'. Also, the recoil on the Glock seems to be harsher than on my Witness, even with the same ammo. These are subjective observations so others might feel differently.
As for accuracy, the aftermarket barrel I have from Storm Lake shoots as accurate as the stock barrel, and they both are just as good as any of the other autos I own. -
Ammo is getting harder and harder to find and is not getting any cheaper... : )
Thinking about converting mine to .40S&W w/ aftermarket barrel to take advantage of cheaper and more readily available ammo.
Otherwise, I like mine and it has been absolutely trouble-free.Comment

The grip on the big Glocks is awfully large. On the other hand, a G20 with full-snort 10mm ammo is a fistful of firepower, even with 10-round mags. I find the 20 relatively pleasant to shoot even with full-power loads.
See if you can shoot one (or even a 21) to make sure it's going to fit you well before you lay down the cash.Somebody wake up Hicks.Comment

The Glock 20 is freakin' sweet, you need to use the Wolff steel guide rod and 22lb recoil spring if you plan on shooting full-power 200gr. 10mm though. The 17lb factory recoil spring simply won't cut it.
Another mod that one should consider performing with the Glock 20/21 is using an extra power firing pin spring from Wolff as well since the 10mm/45 Glocks use a heavier firing pin, which can result in light primer strikes. If you want to avoid the heavier trigger pull that will result from this mod, also install a lighter firing pin safety spring, as this will bring the trigger pull back down.
I also use a Buffer Tech recoil buffer to spare the frame from excess battering.

There was only one thing I liked about Glocks.
They came with free tupperware.
But on the other hand MY sig p229 is dead on accurate.

If you're finding that ammo is hard to find and expensive, it might be time to look into reloading.
I haven't even looked back at pistol ammo prices since I got my Dillon 650 and started reloading. I now have seperate tool heads setup for almost all my pistol calibers (.40, 10mm, .45, .500S&W) and it saves me money. The only pistol caliber I own that I haven't setup is 9mm, I have a boatload of commercial 'cause I never shoot it anymore.
Well worth it once you have a gun or two that are more expensive to feed.

One thing that I forgot to mention was getting a Bar Sto or KKM Precision barrel to go along with the G20, especially if using full-power 10mm. Not only will it provide more accuracy, but you won't have to hear about the "unsupported chamber" from the Sig guys anymore.

Yes. A Glock 21 is kind of a 'universal' gun...Originally posted by kantstudienOne thing that I forgot to mention was getting a Bar Sto or KKM Precision barrel to go along with the G20, especially if using full-power 10mm. - it can shoot 10mm, stock
- it can shoot 40S&W w/conversion bbl (KKM Precision)
- it can shoot 357Sig w/conversion bbl
- it can shoot 45ACP w/a G21 slide+barrel
I don't really like the feel of my Glock 21. But it's VERY accurate for an autoloader (not quite a S&W 625, though) and I shoot well with it, so I keep it.

Correction - a Glock 20 is a universal gun, according to the context of your post. Not the Glock 21 - although they share the same frame.Originally posted by bwieseYes. A Glock 21 is kind of a 'universal' gun...

I think Bill meant that the G21 can shoot .45, 10mm and probably .400 CorBon, 9X25, .40SW and .357 Sig with the proper conversion barrel. The Glock 20 can't shoot the .45, but it can do everything else.Originally posted by TurbinatorCorrection - a Glock 20 is a universal gun, according to the context of your post.
