    Lucky Gunner ballistics testing

Interesting article about tests of popular SD handgun ammo in gelatin. I like the summary tables. They explicitly do not conclude the "best" caliber or brand, but everyone knows it's ________ .

          Thanks for the post.

Noticed the 9mm Hornady Critical Duty performed well, though the .45 ACP 'over penetrated' as 'expected'. I thought the Critical Duty was designed to be fired from a 4" or longer barrel and show some barrier penetration ability and not meant to perform as well in shorter self-defense barrels.

They mentioned in the write up that the gelatin had very little performance difference based on ambient temperature, at least in the range they tested in.

I believe they got all the gelatin came from a single source.

Yes, it's not a perfect scientific testing that is absolutely repeatable, but it's reasonable consistent within the parameters they are reporting.

It's not an absolute and they are not providing the information to the FBI trying the market a new ammo.

It's for comparison of several popular and common HD/SD ammo to give the reader an idea of what's currently available.

Kudos to them for doing the test with all the time, effort, and expense.

Plus, they are the company that that couple in Colorado tried to sue selling ammo the Dark Knight Shooter. They won that case and I will support them for two reasons. One they did this test for all to see AND to give the Brady people the middle finger of trying to sue a legal business into bankruptcy to advance their agenda.
