    Delay Delivery Notice

I went to pick up some pistols today from a PPT, and instead the dealer shows me a delay of delivery notice, WTF? The dealer said that the DOJ would not tell him what it was about and that maybe I should call. So, I promptly call because now I am freaking out a little. I finally get through to the DOJ and they tell me that there is no issue with me, but there is an issue with one of the pistols. So, naturally I ask what the problem is but, of course, they can not tell me what the problem is. On the other hand they allow me to pick up all the other pistols except for that one unitl they clear it. How frustrating is this !

How well do you know the buyer? You might want to start asking about a refund if it's stolen. Get your ducks in a row...

The seller is a stand up guy, but some of the pistols were his dad's who has passed away.

Hopefully DOJ will get it straightened out then.

If by some chance there was a typo error on a serial number made during a police report of a stolen piece that could explain things.

DOJ probably has their knickers in a wad because that pistol wasn't already in their registration system. They might be pulling some BS trace trying to figure out where it originated, or verifying that it was in the state before their registration system was put in place.

              /just a guess

eta - although if it isn't, that's an issue as the heir by law should have put them all in their name before selling them to you, if I understand the law correctly, so it should already be registered.
