    CZ97B vs Springfield loaded

Like to see some discussion on a comparison of these two 45's. Since they are not both 1911's does that make then not comparable? I own a stainless loaded and am interested in the CZ...don't know if I need both in my collection.

I know, get both. That's just not in the cards right now...

I love my CZ 97B's and these can be upgraded by Cajun Gun Works or CZ Custom and become fantastic firearms. Double Action/Single Action and holds 10 rounds in the magazine without sticking out. Can also be made into a single action only if you want that done. Recoil is very manageable as the slide rides inside the frame. Only negative is the larger grip but you can fix that with thin aluminum grips.

Single stack vs double stack. No matter how thin the grips in the 97B are, the grip is still wider than the 1911's.

The rails on the 97B are inside. The 97B slide is not as tall as a 1911's. Many may argue that the 97B can be harder to manipulate due to the slide profile, but with practice, it will be very easy to do so.

They both have a barrel bushing and the takedown and reassembly are similar. They can both be carried cocked and locked, although the 97B can also be carried with the hammer down and be shot in DA as first shot.

The 97B has a full dust cover while the Loaded does not. The stock sights on the 97B are not great. The 97B's trigger is curved like a revolver trigger.

Both have a plethora of aftermarket support. Both can be customized quite a bit.

And yes, standard capacity of 10 rounds with the 97B vs 7 or 8 rounds with the 1911. But of course, there are 10-rd mags available for the 1911.

I will add more as I think of more.

      Hope this helps a bit.

I love a fully tuned 97b as a range gun (even more than a fully tuned 1911).
For serious use give me a hk45c or a g21sf

I do have and love my custom 1911

I would get the 97 if the large grips are comfortable for you. The Springfield loaded .45's are a dime a dozen and you can pick up a used one down the road. The future availability of the 97b is sketchy.

Both great guns. Some similarities, but different enough to fill different niches in a collection.

I have (and love) an SP-01 and just brought home the 9mm Loaded last night which is sort of your same situation, but in 9mm instead of .45.

I have the Loaded in .45, but would like to get the 97B at some point, 'cuz I loves me some CZ's.

So yes, get both... Which if I read your OP right is really just "get the other one" since you already have the Loaded, yes?

I have both. If I could only keep one, it would be the CZ. The stock sights are terrible though, I immediately changed to a set from Cajun Gun Works.

Just a note. The rails mentioned above are not the accessory rails on the dust cover. He is referring to the rails that mate with the slide. The CZ97B does not have and accessory rail.

Sig 220. CZ 97B. Best 45acp. Single action sig 220 is great. 97b is best double single. IMO. Both are fantastic shooting. All steel .
