Congrats, now get out and shoot em!
The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria)"

Just got back from range, good grouping with .45, but with beretta I was all over the target, need more practice
I really like both of the calibers, I was always worried about the prices of ammo, but Walmart is well stocked now and pricing is comparable to online

Good grouping with the 45 because it is a 1911

+1 with BoJack's comment. I love shooting 40. A little forearm conditioning and the recoil is nothing. Then when you shoot a 9, it feels like a 22..

DITTO. My 1911 is a tack driver (cheapo RIA). My Glock 22 2x as large of a grouping. I like triggers you don't need to "get used to" or "condition for". But to each his own. Glock reliability is 2nd to none though..... Would you rather have 99% reliability with your shots grouped at 2 or 100% reliability with a 4" grouping"....... I'll take the Glock for home defense because that 1% can be a MF'er.

Indeed. Shoot mostly .40 and love it. Own a bunch of .40 handguns, even some small CCW pieces in .40, including my snappy Shield. Still get snickers, odd looks, and questions like, "Dude, why...?" when people find out I actually like .40, like I'm a freak of nature or something.

Probably going to go to the dark side and buy my first 9mm this week...looking at a PPT deal for a Sig 226 Mk25 non-CA model. (Anyone got any suggestions on high quality range and SD ammo for it?)
