I gotta agree the 586/686s are beautiful handguns.

You probably didn't pay too much -- the older Smiths are not getting cheaper. And the blued guns that Smith makes today do *not* have the same luster as the older guns (something about a change in the chemical process in order to comply with modern enviro-safety standards).

Congrats -- you've got a sweet rig and it will last for a lifetime.

U will be happy with this s&w 586 is good gun.
do not worry about price, U get old s&w gun that is better then they made today product.

just keep is nice and may be next 10 years U will said U find a "Gold"

I have been looking for one for a while now . I would have paid six bills for 586
in that type of condition ... you wana sell it ?
