    Glock with 16" Barrel

Was looking on http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=146 and they have a IGB 16" barrel for Glock. Now just for discussion and cause i found it funny, would this be CAL legal? Would it now be considered a long arm? And if it has the butt stock would it be legal to run a High Cap mag with it, saying that you had the mag pre band, because it only has one "evil" feature? And last does anyone have an idea how it would change 9 mm ballistics and muzzle velocity?

If it had a shoulder stock, it would need to be at least 30" long and have a fixed mag since it would be a center-fire rifle with a pistol grip. So, that would mean 10-round mags only.

And once you put the shoulder stock on it, per ATF it is to be considered a rifle from now on. so, if you go below 16" barrel, or 26" OAL, it is now an unregistered SBR.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

according to mech tech, their 16" barrel for 45 acp bumps fps by about 15%... you may want to check the website and find out for yourself. They sell a setup for a glock... I think the url is mechtech.com

I love Glock's but that's quite possibly one of the hideous looking things I have ever seen.

That just looks like a bad idea.

Better start using slow propellant in it then. That's probably what they used when they tested it. With pistol propellant, the fps may actually decrease with a barrel that long.

Since Glocks don't have a fixed barrel, I'm rather curious what the wear on the part would be like.

Other concerns aside, isn't that a "threaded barrel" so that even attaching it alone (no stock) is AW handgun time?

Well they've added all sorts of stuff since I got mine. I have the wire stock (I fix it in CA so it can't collapse) and the add on rail with front & rear sight, use a little Barska SKS scope with a 30mm offset mount. Just fun to shoot, you can hear the rounds go "kathunk" as they slap against the target.

i'm still confused does mech tech have a letter from the atf that says you can revert it back to a pistol without making a sbr?

Just a guess, but I'd say no. I believe they proceed from the "dedicated frame" point of view, that someone buying their product can (and must) use a 1911 or Glock frame committed to the unit. I would suppose it is a legally defensible position?

Would I have to lock the mag to legally use one of these?

Yes if you have the Mech Tech kit on it because it would become a center fire rifle and subject to the CA AW law and related restrictions.
