    1911 Question - Grip Safety

Anyone know of a source for a grip safety that has a standard tang (no beaver tail) but has an enlarged (thicker) palm piece or a memory bump type palm swell?

    Don't ask me why.

"Is that a desert country?" "No; a fat country; fat people." "You are not fat?" "No. I'm different..."

    Why?

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

I think you should be able to find something like that on Brownell's website

        Not everyone likes beavertails

If you find one, you will also have to change the hammer back to a standard type rather than the commander hammer used with a beavertail or you won't be able to cock it.

Check out Kings Gun Works http://www.kingsgunworks.com/newcatalog/page03.html or Pachmayr http://www.pachmayr.com/rubber-grip-safeties.php.

Wider than rat tails but not quite high ride beaver tails. No frame mods.

if you have big hands, the first time it bites you, you will like a beaver tail.

I hear that but I have very large hands and have never been bit
I suspect it has more to do with your grip then your hand size
