I Was Looking for an XD or Glock and Ended Up With a SIG

This is my first 9mm handgun.

I had been circling Glock 17's and XD 9's until today when I walked into my LGS and picked up a Sig SP2022. Wow, loved how it fit my hand. I had never even considered a Sig... I figured here, in the PRK, to get in the Sig game, it was close to a thousand dollars.

Anyway, after fondling the gun and jawboning with the owner, we settled on a price of $485 (includes two mags, holster, second back strap, case). And just like that, I'm a proud Sig Sauer owner.

Anyone else have one of these? How do you like it?

This is one of the more underrated pistols out there.

      Good price for new.

I have glocks, walthers, berettas, m&ps and have shot an xd before.

All of your polymer guns are similar and different at the same time.

They all seem to function reliably and trigger time is your friend.

Now that you've picked one, buy a ton of ammo and have fun.

Fantastic value for the money comes to mind, but they're really great guns.

Low price for how good they are.

I Was Looking for an XD or Glock and Ended Up With a SIG

I have a P226 and P220 and have been toying with the idea of putting a red dot on one of them and sending out the slide to be milled but thinking now maybe a 2022 as a dedicated RMR gun. Whaddya think?

Also, there were rumors of Sig releasing milled slides for different models but haven't heard anything concrete. Anyone hear any rumors?

They are sigs low end answer to compete with the other semi autos at or around that price range. Like others have said great value for the money, my dad had one that I shot a few times I didn't have any complaints about it but also didn't fall in love with it, he later sold it to a buddy of his.

Not a bad ending. Teutonic as well.

I don't agree about the low/high end thing there.
Me? I prefer shooting metal framed pistols right now and yes, a polymer Sig (or any other manufacturer) is going to cost less than a metal framed Sig. That doesn't mean it's low end.
For guys who actually carry all day, the weight and corrosion resistance becomes a topic. And if you limit your selection to polymer, Sig is right in there with all the others.

Great pistol I love mine. About 1,300 trouble free rounds down the pipe

Good for you! and I mean that, there are reasons why we have so many chooses (maybe not in CA but you get the idea)

I don't like DA/SA handguns but if the work for you and you like it, that's what its about!

more than likely you will not be a Glock or XD hater because you picked something that fits you better.

And you will get them. I started out with P226 stainless, then wanted a polymer but didn't like Glocks so I got a XD9. My current home defense gun is a Glock 21 SF. Go figure. LOL. Sweet pistol and congrats.
