One reason to own only 1911's and one other semi. Way too much of an inventory and storage issue

?The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense is not a ?second-class right,? subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees.? ?.. I'm in the same boat. I tend to have 15-20 magazines per firearm, even if the firearm is identical (I must have close to 80-90 1911 magazines). It's an obsession...
I have a safe full of shoesboxes filled with just magazines. Each marked and cataloged according to firearm and frequency of use.
The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

Magazines tend to accumulate over the years. I always try to have more than just a couple of magazines for every gun I have. I do keep 30 or so 20 & 30 rounders for the AR's and the same amount of 30 round Eastern Block mags for the AK's. There is also the odd 75 round drum here and there and a few belts for the MG42.
None of mine are California compliant unless it is something that only comes with a diminished capacity mag like the Shield or the PSL54c.MLC member.

Goals right there. And here I thought having 10 per handgun was "good enough."Comment

For those that have quipped that you should only have one (or two) guns so not to have so many magazines...it's called a COLLECTION! Like most I have my "go to" firearms for the range.
I too own the upLULA magazines loaders (for all of the calibers). I load at least twenty 1911 magazines before heading to the range. Granted my range time is "short" (lol), and people wonder how I can put so much lead on target, but it is time well spent.
I could do the speed loader (and moon clip) "show and tell" as well for my revolvers (along with insane preloaded speed loader blocks). Again...it is just range convenience...nothing tactical.
Of course I have more than enough ammunition to load every magazine (speed loaders, moon clips, etc.)...many, MANY, times over. Is there such thing as enough ammunition?
The box contains twenty AR magazines with the aluminum rivet (hint hint).
Oh...for the guy that got pounced for "clip"...we have all made that mistake. I've seen seasoned Marines call magazines the same and their pistols guns (lol). The bottom line is can you use them.
Hey...it's only about fun. We can all talk tactics and when SHTF logistics...but these are collections. I enjoy the process, the fun and yes...I have several problems (lol).Last edited by KEVCON; 10-06-2015, 5:57 PM.Comment

I agree...it could be a fetish as well. But all of us here, on these forums, have something in common and it is probably what drives us to do what others would consider "abnormal" or "obsessive" (heck some, or lot, would consider owning more than one firearm excessive). It's California and for one reason or another we have all elected to live here. We can fight (and I do - I use the NRA political email campaigns all of the time and I can easily do a posting of the number of letters I have received back form politicians - I "DO" do something) the ever increasing and restrictive gun laws, but the bottom line is if we don't grab what we can now...we may not have it later. Is that a fetish? I'm making these replies just to stimulate conversations...not to make a position or to argue a point. I'm an individual and I have taken the twisted view that California has just added one more aspect to the collection process. It makes the hunt harder...but victory just more sweeter.Comment

Yes, so organized for the photo. It’s fun to play in the toy box. Nice collection.
Well, that’s one good thing about pushing 50 years old, some of us have a good stash of “hi capacity” mags. Take that, you young Cali whipper snappers….
Now it’s time to get greedy with the ammo.Comment
