    Glock - Trigger Guard Undercut

I've been working on these this week. I really like like the way it feels so far. Going to try and get to the range today to try them out. Still need a little polishing but so far so good!

Someone did that for a friend's model 19 gen 4. IMHO, it really improved the feel, and made it easier to point naturally (something I have problems with on a Glock). Great mod

Wow looks good. What did you do or use to do that?

Started with a rough sand wheel on a dremel on slow speed to avoid melting the polymer. Then I went with the fine sand wheel. Used some 600 grit (emery cloth) and a little water to smooth it out. now I'm working with the polishing wheel and a little compound to finish it off.
I started with the 19 because it never really fit my hand. I liked the feel so I did it to my 26 and 17.

What's the purpose of the forward undercut? I've seen others do it but don't see a reason for it.

Did you use calipers to measure the undercut or just by eye and feel?

For those who have taken a class or shot for several days... It seems that we all get the callus or blister on our middle fingers from the trigger guard as the hand wants to be a touch higher up on the stock

Interesting. Thanks. I guess I can see that, for some folks.

I did the undercut for just my shooting hand (middle finger). It moved my hand up the grip a little and just made it easier to point.

This has been preventing me from buying a G19. But I'll probably cave in and buy one this year. Maybe my pops can lend me the tools to shave off some of the trigger guard.

A lot of people like the undercut trigger guards found on other pistols.

If you plan on keeping it, all safe frame modifications are on the table.

I just eye balled. Went slow, a little at a time.

Also, just came home from range. No more sore knuckle for this guy! The purchase felt much better as well, especially on the 19.

I like it. I would think this would make a Glock more comfortable to shoot. I just don't know how weak the trigger guard has become. It would be nice if Glock used plastic covered steel for the trigger guard. That way the trigger guard could be made thinner without sacrificing strength.

Yes, but I've never heard anyone here say (admit ) their trigger guard broke after doing the undercut.
