    DROS clarification

My handgun DROS app was turned down because I had only waited 27 days, instead of 30, before submitting it for the new gun.
So, does that now mean I have to wait another 30 days after the refusal to re-submit?
My FFL dealer, and good friend, says it's OK to re-submit now; there will be a second DROS fee which he will cover. Is he correct?

You can resubmit now but you are responsible for second DROS fee. It appears as if he is a good friend by covering the second fee.

Thanks. I'm old enough, 30 additional days might be too long.

You don't have to wait another 30 days.

This happened to me (my fault). You have to wait 30 days from the submission date of the "short period denied DROS". Your FFL can call Sacramento DOJ to confirm. That's what my FFL, OC Armory did while I waited. Call took less than two minutes.

Correct. The 30-Day clock restarts from each attempt at submission of a handgun DROS. It did not use to be this way. We've only seen this in the last few months. So now if you submit on day 29 and 23 hours and 59 minutes you have to wait another 30 calendar days from that moment.

This needs to be challenged. Especially since the recent DC ruling declared handgun purchase limits unconstitutional.

This is a legal question, not a handgun question.

It might have gone into the FFL forum very comfortably. But it has apparently been answered by an FFL, so just closed.
