1911 - holster/mag pouch/belt for uspsa single stack

Recomendations for using it in uspsa single stack competition:

Holsters?

Belt/holster combo?

Mag pouches?
Saw the blade tech quad pouches...how useful for USPSA?

Need to hold 7 mags, thinking of getting 2 of the quads.

On a side note, because I'm new, do you put your already used mags back in the mag pouch, or do you just drop them during reloads?

Pouches: Safariland 771's

7 mags? I carry 5 and one in the back pocket for "emergencies"...I've only had to reach for the back pocket once when I dropped a mag on a 42 round stage. I don't know about you, but I run out of belt real estate with 6. Remember, you have to keep your holster and all your pouches behind your hip bone.

I don't think I've ever seen a quad pouch being used in a match. I have seen one during a club shoot and it looked like the mags were too close together for my taste.

No, you don't have time to put a mag back in the pouch...just drop it and pick it up when you're done.

The buddy of mine who is getting me into this said to have 7 mags. Didn't question why etc.

I was thinking a quad holster would keep them closer to my hipbone, as opposed to way all around the back.

I like the Bladetech Drop / Offset Holster.

A CR Speed belt is what everyone uses.

Not sure as to the mag holders. I'm looking around for these also.

I just drop the magazines onto the floor. There's no requirement that you retain them like in IDPA.

For production, I use 5 magazines. That's a total capacity of 50 rounds. To reach this capacity, you would need 6 or 7 8-round 1911 magazines. One in the gun, four on your pouches, and one in the back pocket would give you fourty-eight / nine rounds and should be enough.

Used to use a nice Safariland rig in IPSC competition several years ago, worked great.
Four single mag holders arrayed on the front left quadrant and a fifth loose / inserted in the weapon when making ready.
Don't recall ever shooting a stage that called for more than 35 rounds.

Haven't kept up on recent competition fashion trends, but a quad mag holder would seem to me to not be helpful, fumbling about to grab just one.
