Les Baer Ultimate Master vs Wilson Classic

These pistols are very close in specs and price. I'm gonna get one or the other and need some help deciding which. I don't think there is really a wrong decision here, but would like to get some input. I'd be using this as a range toy and maybe some IPSC single stack.

Wilson Combat has been the innovator in custom pistols, long guns, and accessories since 1977. Home of the Wilson Combat 1911, EDC X9, WCP320, and more!

Based on my google-fu, the wilson will have better fit&finish, while the les baer better accuracy, but is there anything else I should consider?

Will the Wilson be much more reliable? Does Les Baer use better steel?

    Thanks!

If you're going to shoot it all the time, I would pick the LB. If it's more of a safe queen go with Wilson. I saw that you would use it as a range toy but how often would you shoot it or how many rounds per week?

        Can't go wrong with either.

I'm partial to Les Baer, though.

Your not going to wear out or out shoot either one. Personal prefrence, I'll take a WC over a LB any day.

could anyone advise if the custom touches (magwell, recessed stop, crowned muzzle) on this would push it off roster?

                UPDATE

Wilson helped me out, only the Magwell was on the approved gun. Bummer.

Although I cant say much of the WC I do own a LB Ultimate Master.

I shoot the crap out of the LB both right and left handed, so I appreciate the ambi safety and flared mag well . It is by far IMO the best 1911 I own. If you are concerned with the finish wearing then just send it in for a refinish years down the road.

The only thing I don't like about a custom 1911 is the trigger reset. It's a bit soft, I shoot all my pistols from reset, and prefer a more positive reset. It's difficult to have a more pronounced reset on a custom trigger. I do appreciate the smooth trigger on the custom 1911's, just takes a but to get used to a smoother reset.

They both used carbon (forged) steel. Usually oversized, fitted frames.

If you're looking at "durability & lifespan..." Most likely the gun will outlast you and your grandchildren if cared for properly...

Wilson's generally have a higher resale value if that matters to you ~ Big fan of my Baer!

Just for the sake of conversation, why not an SA Pro?

The biggest problem is the wait for most people.

Outside of that, some purists like guns without MIM parts.

I own both, a Pro, LB, or Wilson are very good guns. Wilsons definitely have a better fitting. The LB and Pro look like tools, ready and willing to be abused.
