    Experience with current Colt handguns.

I am looking at the current COLT 1911's.

Most basic full size models in 45 and 9mm.

They look like a really good value for the money.

How are the most current basic Colt's in Your opinon?

PS. My Colts are from mid 70's and older. Dont have and have not shot any new ones.

I have a 1991 Government Model that I bought a few years ago. The fit and finish is very good and it will shoot more accurately than I can.

Current Colts are awesome, bought a Commander a few months ago and love it. Did research as well and the consensus is nothing wrong with new Colts.

Not full sized or basic, but I have a new Defender purchased earlier this year. Fit an finish aren't as good as my Sig 1911 with a little play between the slide and frame and the trigger rattles when the gun is shook. From my own research I have learned this is pretty common among Colt 1911's. Shoots great though, I have zero complaints about performance and its quite accurate.

current production colts (especially full size models) are really top notch.

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

            With guns, we are 'citizens.'

            Without them, we are 'subjects'.
