    SA 1911 loaded 9mm

Ok, I was wondering who makes the thinnest set of 1911 grips? Also has anyone sent their SA 1911 back to SA for any trigger work? are they good to go and how was the experience? my biggest concern is of course sending a firearm out and possibly never seeing it again.

I have never used SACS but everything I've read in my research indicates they are a great shop. You could also consider Alchemy Custom who did a 1911 for me recently, their work is excellent.

I believe VZ makes a set of slim grips that are pretty thin.

Ed Brown sells slim grips but in addition to slim grips you can also try a shorter trigger pad to fit your reach.

I have sent two 1911s to SACS for work and I will recommend them to anybody who wants work done on their 1911. Amanda is great with communication and they have a $40 round trip shipping deal that is unbeatable. I had them do a trigger job on my Dan Wesson which returned with a 3.5# with with no creep and no overtravel. I had them do some cosmetic changes on my warren tactical and they did a great job in only about 2 weeks.

      SACS is good to go!

SACS price is very reasonable compared to other shops. I wonder if they will checker an alloy frame thinking of sending them a ROC 9mm to have checkered and Armorykoted.

Chip McCormick makes a pretty think set that does not require any kind of modification:

I don't know about the thinnest grips but I can say SACS does a great job and in a timely manor. I sent my loaded 9mm for a sight repair and then a detour to the custom shop and in 6 weeks I got back this.

Alumagrips also makes slim grips. I have a set on my Baer TR.

Slim grips from a california company. They also have some slim grips on their clearance page.

Please remember to replace your bushing if you want to use slim grips. Otherwise, it will not work, if I am not mistaken.

I have a set of slim grips from Ahrends. The set was "custom made" to an extent. The wait time is around 6 weeks.

joegar82 the grips are VZ Operators Black/Gray.

MosinVirus the coating was done by SACS it's Armory Kote Black stainless.

whipkiller, first thank you for the compliment the first few parts replaced were done by me, STI Black nylon trigger, Ed Brown Thumb safety, slide stop and MSH with mag guide chain link design. Then I sent it to SACS and they put on a Fiber optic front sight, flush cut and crowned the barrel, cut front strap chain link design, blended the magwell and did the coating. About a month later I put in a Cylinder&Slide hammer set and now enjoy a around 3lb trigger pull.

This is my favorite gun and only once it has not gone to the range when I go shooting.
