    Great deal you got! Congrats!

So authentic VZ grips are standard with the firearm? Is there a VZ logo on the grips, or are these possibly copies? I know that VZ are not cheap grips.

I can't guarantee that, But I didn't special order or anything, and that's what came with mine.

here is a pick of the back of the grip. so if its a fake, its a pretty darn good one....

I also ordered the standard GI model slot screws for the grips. I could not stand the torque head screws that came on it. I noticed many high end 1911s also use them but i do not like them. I had the proper size tool for it but it felt loose and i am sure it was going to strip out.
RIA uses their own thread pitch i was told on the screws so i ordered them from RI . they came in 3 days 8 bucks shipped.

And RIA does NOT slack on this part either. (Neither do most 1911 makers actually).

Really nowadays, are there really any crappy 1911s? After 100 years of making them, you'd think that the methods were pretty well ironed out, right?

Congrats! I own a RIA 2011 and it's a keeper. Very happy with the performance and it didn't beat my wallet to death.
