Spring changes using Marvel 1911-.22 on

Have not used this adapter in some time. Have had trouble with feed .22s, jamming the slide. Plan on mounting the adapter on a Kimber Carry Pro 4" frame, should the main spring be changed, anything else? Might the feeding problem be a weak mag. spring?

    Thanks

I've got a Marvel unit I run on a SA loaded target. Had some feed issues and did two things.

    1. Replaced the plastic mag with the Colt steel version offered by Marvel.

    2. Run only high velocity ammo. Rem golden bullets, CCI Blazer, and mini-mags all work well now.

I concluded that the feed issue was the whopping 27 lb. mainspring. Under powered ammo just couldn't push the slide back far enough to get behind the rim of the next round in the mag against that stiff spring.

1200+ fps ammo seems to push it back well enough to work.

"mini-mags all work well" the only .22lr I've ever shoot. Did you consider a mainspring change?

Thought about it but I'm a purist. ..

I'm sure a lighter main spring would help. But I solved the issue with ammo and the metal mag.
