    I personally prefer the 19
My hands are too big for the 26. I don't like the feel of hanging on with 2 1/2 fingers on the 26.

      When I was shopping for a carry gun, I handled a G19, G26, and G30.

I did not like the feel of the G26 especially with my pinky hanging off the end.

It was a toss up between the G19 and G30 for me. I rented a G30 and liked how it felt.

So when a G30 popped up at a great deal, I bought a G30 for carry and it works well. It fits my ~200lb 6'2" frame at about the 3-4 o-clock position.

I have since bought a G19 more for my wife to shoot and for long classes I take. From a carry and shooting standpoint, they feel basically the same... granted the 30 has more of a push than the 19.

All my glocks have an extended magazine release, extended slide lock, and extended slide stop release. The extended mag release and slide stop release are for easier one hand manipulation especially off hand. The slide lock was to make breaking down the gun easier... in hind site, I would have bought the "tool" rather than a piece for each gun.

As others said, go handle both and shoot both. Then figure which you want.

I have both. The 26 is on my permit, the 19 is not. That said I don't carry the 26. I carry a Shield or a P938.

Many who responded do have both. They're sending you a "clue".

I have G23 and G27 currently my standby HD guns with a 12 gauge pump as my primary. I skipped the G22 for I have a G35. I wouldn't get rid of any of them, but if I have to keep just one of the compact I'd keep the G23.

If you can carry the 19 well, go with that. It's much easier to shoot. I got plenty of hi-caps for the 19 but I can't carry in Cali anyway. If I could, I'd go with the 26 because the 19 doesn't conceal well on me. I'd carry 17 or 19 mags for reloads, but the point of the 26 is maximum concealment. I do all my shooting with it with no stupid extensions or goofy floorplates.

Didn't know that G19s had issues, I think I'm going to go with the 19 and see how I like the Glock line. If I like it I'll purchase a 26 in the future.

Happily I tried the G26 and it's been awesome, as has a G30 that I subsequently purchased due to the favorable G26 experience.

My G19 issues have since been sorted out. That said, you never hear complaints about the G26 unlike the frequent complaints about the G19.

My G26 is on my CCW, the G19 is not. 9mm Shield is similarly an awesome CCW firearm.

Older G19s don't really have issues. Ones produced from last 3 years or so have been a mixed bag (sample size of 12 G19s)

The issues stem from the followers in the magazine. If you can get the pistol with the standard 15 round mags blocked to 10, you shouldn't experience any issues.
