    SIG P320

Couple questions on the Sig P320, and sorry if this was asked before.

Any idea when they will be coming out with colored grip modules? And does anyone know if you'll be able to drop in a 9mm barrel into a P320 in .40S&W model?

    Thanks

You can't just drop in a 9mm barrel into a 40 slide, unless it is a conversion barrel made by a 3rd party. If you want to use a Sig barrel, you need a new slide, magazine, recoil spring and barrel.

Currently you can make it a 9mm, 40SW, 357Sig, or 380ACP. Simply buy a P320 X-change kit in the frame size, color and caliber that you want - in comes with everything you need. Call the Sig Store - they have more stuff for sale than you see on their website.

I just picked up a black P320c. It was nicer than full size one.

That seems cost-inefficient. I was told by a gun store employee that the pistol was designed to accommodate any of the calibers (in terms of build strength, I guess), and that, like a Glock, I would eventually be able to drop in a 9mm barrel, get a couple of 9mm mags, and I'm ready to go.

I think the employee misunderstood Sig's intent. The pistol was designed to be modular so kits could be exchanged but not the barrel.

IMHO I would be surprised if you can switch out just the barrels. One of the reasons why the p320 is so accurate for it's price range, is the barrel lockup is very tight. I have a feeling the barrels won't interchange (pure speculation on my part, I have a 9mm but I don't have a 0.40 to try it myself).

Yes, very solid gun... have 40s&w as well, but still brand new in the box. I only shot my 9mm sig p320C.

I find the compact slide shoots really well and I'd like to snag a carry grip module to pair with it.

My friend has a Glock 22, and a 9mm barrel drops into that to shoot perfectly. (with 9mm mags of course)

Will the SIG not do that?

There is a lot of things you 'can do', not all of them you should do. Like shoot .40SW out of a 10MM barrel.

No one here is going to suggest you run a G17 barrel in a G22. Glock does not advertise that as a capability because it is an ignorant thing to do. Were it possible without downsides, you can bet they would promote it.

Does it work, yes, is it optimal, no. Will it cause a premature failure, maybe. If it were such a good idea, the people making actual Glock conversion barrels would be out of business.

Likewise, no one here is going to suggest you run a Sig 9mm barrel in a Sig .40 slide.

We've told you, as P320 owners ourselves, what you should do - what Sig designed the pistol to do, what will not void your warranty. What you actually do, now armed with correct information, is up to you.
