Just got me glock 42. Does anyone have any recommendations for drop in triggers?

No. It's a CCW gun. Stock is what it is.

Being that the 42 is neither a target or a practical competition gun, it makes no sense to trade reliability for a minimal gain in potential accuracy for slow/deliberate shooting.

If the intent is for protection, and trigger enhancement will be highly criticized in any defense, if the weapon is EVER involved in an altercation wherein it is fired. Whether or not, it makes the gun safer.

Law enforcement generally keeps their Glocks, bone stock. If it is not good enough for you, get an S&W Shield.

For such a light weight handgun, the trigger is ridiculous heavy. The small size makes it even more difficult to isolate movement of the handgun when pressing the trigger. So hard to crush it out.
I have done the Ghost series for the 42 and it makes a huge difference. Next one I would for sure look at the Taran Tactical series. I asked him how he was able to achieve a seemingly superior connector geometry. He said it was just luck.
Taran is a good dude. I will buy his connectors from here out.

Streamlight makes an excellent light/laser combination that securely clamps to the trigger guard. I purchased two and I am quite impressed with the light output.
I also replaced my sights with some Dawson Fiber Optic.

Great little handgun.... I should really carry it instead of what I actually do.

I have a Vanek, and had many others, including Zev, and Lightning Strike, and Ghost.

          Vanek is pricy but best..

cool thanks for all the input, i appreciate it

yeah, the trigger pull is awfully heavy for my liking and the break does not feel clean to me. i would like to know i have the accuracy at mid range distance if i really needed it. i cannot say i have that with the stock trigger -- my only gripe with the gun atm

Stock trigger is pretty good, maybe give it some time?

I shoot at a 4" plate at 25 yards and hit 80-90% of the time, average speed about 1rd/s. I replaced my sights recently and I think that's worth more than a trigger modification.

i've already put on some trijicon sights & have put 600+ rounds through it, i would think it would have broken in by now if it was going to.

my main issue is the break, it makes me cringe.

It really makes you cringe? Break is very consistent and crisp on mine, consistent pull, minimal travel, short/positive reset, very predictable and even, no grit, brief take up, and good/smooth feel.

What are you looking for? It's my understanding that aftermarket triggers have a minimal change to geometry and they almost completely rely on reduced power springs to lighten the pull weight.

How is your accuracy on the stock trigger?

Dropped in a ghost connector with my g42 and it makes world of difference. Went from 8ish lb trigger pull to around 5 which is usually an out of box full size glock should be. Put 100 rounds and no issues.

I'm pretty sure the Glock store sells a drop in trigger for the G42 team that up with a ghost connector. Yolo..

I too thought the trigger was heavier than it needed to be. Used a Ghost and have been happy with it. It's by no means a "sweet" trigger, but pull weight is better.

                          No, do not modify it.

The G42 has a great trigger.

This gun works perfectly for its purpose.

3 of us at the range own G42s and love them - thousands of rounds among us three and NOT a SINGLE failure!!

If you can get it on your CCW permit, you can be assured it is RELIABLE.

                          So, leave it be.

Just change the disconnector. Should be good to go.

That and a $0.25 trigger job (polishing) has gone a long way on my Glocks.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.
