    Is it just me?

I don't like the 8 round S&W Shield mags. They don't feel right for some reason. Every time I pick one up I think I have it backwards, because of the lip on the back of the mag. I'm used to indexing my mags by feel of the front lip of the floor plate, and these mags throw me a curve.

Any idea's for a fix? I've thought about cutting the back off of the extension, I'm just not sure there is enough material to keep it functional if I cut it off. Just taking them off looks like a non-starter too, but I haven't shot it with them off yet, I'm thinking it's going to bite if I do.

You could cut a notch that wouldn't need to be deep in either the front or rear of the base plate as a tactile reference.
