Lately I have been pulling out guns that have been stuck in the back of my safe and shooting them more. One of those that had gotten "stuck" was the Colt 1991 I bought a few years ago. No particular reason for not shooting it, I just got more or less side tracked shooting my 9mm stuff.
Yesterday I brought a few .45's to the desert and blasted off a couple hundred rounds. First was the Colt and what a sweet shooter it is. Very easy to hold the center of the bullseye with it and it digested everything I fed it with zero hiccups.
Next I put several magazines through my Rock Island Officers model. This is
another pistol that shoots well and it too, ran flawlessly all day.
Last up was the Springfield 1911 that was caught while fishing in Big Bear Lake back in 1961. I only fired a couple of magazines though it as the plunger tube is about to rot through and I have to be careful with the old girl.
All in all a great day in the desert and I am heading out again tomorrow to exercise a few of my revolvers that I haven't shot in a while.
Here is a little .45 porn of my modest collection.
