So basically I had a parts kit of a German P228 lying around and been searching to no avail for a lower to make it a complete firearm. I'm a huge fan of the German made Sigs especially the folded slides so I just got to thinking. How can I get this to work on my P226.
Well since the barrels are different between the two I did some measuring and realized that all that needed to be done was to open up the port on the P228 to accept the barrel.
So after about two hours of milling in excitement I realized I had not taken any pictures until I got to filing and shaping the port. But here are the results. My guess is it will function perfectly. Note that I had just replaced my P226 Barrel from 1992 so it was actually my spare to do these measurements and actually test for fit and function. Now to do a live fire test and then send off for refinishing
Started taking pictures at the filing and shaping stage

Fitting the barrel

Here it is next to its big brother

Ready for some test firing
