    California Approved Lock?

Hi all, why does CA have to have something approved? I don't see any different between the cable lock that comes with the pistols we buy and the one being approved. I know some FFL require them for PPT, but I see some that don't even bother with it.

Penal Code requires it - PC 26320 and following, and see also http://oag.ca.gov/firearms/fsdcertlist/

Why the Legislature thought that a good idea is impossible to say, since it is not really a good idea.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Because kalifornia is not a free state. We are peasants, they are the rulers. The government does as it pleases, how it pleases, when it pleases, to whomever it pleases. It is an out of control tyrannical beast.

It might not answer the question of gun locks, but it begins to answer the question of "why does kalifornia..."

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Just fill out a safe affidavit if the gun doesnt come with a lock or your doing a ppt.

Safe affidavits cannot be used in lieu of a cable lock for handgun purchases. While CA DOJ authorizes them, BATFE does not recognize safe affidavits for anything other than long guns.

This is pretty old ground, and not specific to handguns, so closed.
