    Beretta cheetah 84fs

A good friend of mine is shipping one over to me from Guam. What are your opinions about the pistol? Never owned a Beretta cheetah or any Beretta pistol before.

While I don't own a Beretta 84 by name, I do own a Browning BDA380 which is essentially a Beretta 84. I really like the gun, fits my hand well and compared to my other .380s its not a tiny thing and has hardly any recoil to it. Only downside I really see to it is that .380 is so much more expensive than 9mm.

I had the 84f 13 shot and 85f 8? shot and really enjoyed both of them. Wish I had never sold them.

I have one. Nice little .380. Popular with inexperienced shooters or shooters with smaller hands

.380 ammo situation has way improved over the last 6 months. I'd be loading up on Herter's .380 from Cabela's right now at $13.59 a box with free shipping on a $99 order. (code 95FREE)

If nothing else, the Cheetah is a beautiful gun.

I just recently picked up a new Beretta Cheetah 84FS. It's a great little shooter!

The Beretta 84/85/86 series of pistols are all very high quality, accurate, and pleasant to fire. While they are large compared to the pocket-sized .380s one normally sees in stores these days they have good sights, mild recoil, and are very comfortable to shoot.

Congrats, OP! I am sure you will be happy with your new acquisition.

Always wished Beretta would make this series in 9mm.

I have a Beretta 86 which is similar to the 84. It is basically an over-sized 380. Nice gun, but it isn't practical in the USA when you can get guns of the same size in 9mm, or smaller guns in the same 380 caliber. It is like having a Glock 19 in 380, or a Glock 25. It is also expensive. It is mainly for people in Europe or other such countries where people are not allowed to own military caliber handguns.

I like my 86, but I only paid about $400 for it brand new; not $1000+.

I own one I like it a lot but its not without quirks.
1.) It has a magazine disconnect safety ( I hate this feature on guns, but I can deal with it since it was designed that way and not regulated that way)

2.) The safety lever has a middle setting that does nothing so you have to be careful its on the setting you want it to be.

I can't speak to the model 84, but I do have a model 86. It is, by far, the most beautiful gun I own. And it is not a bad little shooter either.

Thanks for all the input guys! Btw, do all grips fit it regardless if it's a 84, 85, 86 etc?

From my experience they do not fit universally on some models due to location of safety or decockers etc. I got a set of grips from Altamont as a gift from a friend and they're listed for the Beretta Cheetah, and they would all, but just about fit on my BDA380. The right side would pop right on, but the left side didn't wouldn't fit at all.

So you may want to research to see what will fit what.
