Wtf is so special about the glock rtf2?

I have one and never thought it was anything special.
It's my nightstand gun and to me isn't anything more than a highly reliable small caliber pistol.
But I see a lot of interest in the rtf 2. Why?

Probably because they made so few of the ones with the "fish gill" slides.

^^^This. "Nothing special" to you, may hold high value, desire or collectability to someone else.

I'll take the Gen 4 grip over the RTF2, own both.

Closest Glock ever got to making a real handgun.

Anything that's made in more limited production is going to make it more desirable to some. Don't think they'd hold a premium in the marketplace right now....but 10 yrs who knows, you could be sitting on a polymer/gold mine!!!!!!

I see it as no different than the others really but the fish gill effect has a certain allure to it some might really like.

                    RTF > Stippling

                    Gawd I hate stippled glocks.

You get a good grip texture from the factory without the need to spend hundreds of dollars for someone to stipple/rework your frame.

Limited availability is always going to generate more interest. Supply/demand and all that.

because rough texture one was like holding a torture chair in your hand

#2 is a little less harsh

I passed on one from my local dealer just a few days ago. The grip I just loved compared to the regular gen 3 but the slide gills just didn't cut it for me. They where way to smooth compared to the regular gen 3 which I like better. They where asking under $500.00 for it.

It's rough, it's textured, it's a frame, the number 2, why wouldn't it be special?

Unfortunately Glock went with looks over function with the slide serrations.
If they would have just turned them around and had them facing the other way, it would have really help with racking the slide. As is you are right, much too slick for serious work.
