First off let me say I've read through the AR pistol thread here and gathered all the information I can.
So here's my situation, all hypothetical of course. If I had an 80% lower with the intention of building an AR pistol out of it, and I then decided to buy say a 10.5" barrel upper assembly, and plan on a total length between 26"-30" so I can use a forward vertical pistol grip, and install a pistol buffer tube, as far as I understand I am not in violation of any explicit laws, correct? I understand the problem with constructive possession if I have extra parts laying around so I could in theory build a SBR, and I understand there is some grey area surrounding CA laws and AR pistols. I just want to make sure I'm not directly violating any laws with my proposed AR pistol build.
Any input is appreciated, if anybody has a deeper understanding of the laws.
