    Best self defense 9mm ammo

Hey guys, I was wondering what a good self defense 9mm round is... Any recommendations? Looking for something for protection while hunting ( from mountain lions or rattlers), as well as home defense. Is there any on the market that can provide with that as well as not being too overpenetrating to keep loaded at home? Thanks!

Federal HST is the best 9mm defense round. However you may want to reevaluate your strategy of shooting mountain lions and snakes with a 9mm pistol...

I like 124 grain or 147 Grain for my 9mm. Forget about 115 is my feeling.
                Ranger T-series bonded
                Remington Golden Sabre
                Speer Lawman
                Winchester Defend

Or the HST (but realize the HST is buying the most popular right now $$$)

Truth is well placed shot with a 115, a 124, 147 is what is needed and not relying on expansion only in a hollow point to bring the situation to an all clear state of safety. Practice, practice practice placement with the cheap stuff and make sure a few clips run smooth of the defense load you choose for HD and packing on the trails with you. Good luck.

Another Federal HST # P9HST2 fan here!

                  None better IMHO.

                    Good?

                    Anything you can rely on.

Ideally a hallow point that functions reliably in your firearm.

Can't say they are the best, but I have Speer Gold Dot +P 124 drain JHP in my bedside Glock 19. I'm confident they'd get the job done.

This but added: any hollow point that you have tried out and know will function in your weapon.

That is the reason I use the cheapest type, it allows me to practice more with it instead of the ultra premium flavor of the month near a dollar a round sometimes.

I have used this for the longest time, it will work well enough and I can practice with it since it is reasonably priced at $16 per 50

A bad guy isn't going to know the difference between one hollow point to another.

Remington Golden Sabre, look at the ballastics and you will know why.
