    Barrel coating job

    Hey everybody, does anyone know where to get a stainless steel pistol barrel coated black?im located in the LA area but im willing to ship it out to have it done

      There may be some do-it yourself chemical processes available for that. Try googling to see what comes up.

              Ion bond cab give a semi gloss black that is very durable and won't affect your barrel to slide fit. It's not cheap though.

                    If you decide to nitride your stainless barrel, go for plasma nitriding instead of salt bath nitriding. Nitriding stainless steel doesn't provide the huge increase in corrosion resistance compared to nitriding carbon steel, but at least plasma nitriding improves corrosion resistance of stainless somewhat, where as salt bath nitriding can actually reduce it.
