I like them, but I can see how they look cheap. I think its cause I've seen so many pellet guns with them

      Use what works for you.

You say cheap, I say functional.

maybe it's a generational thing as well because if you grew up without them, your so used to seeing them the standard way ...
but I don't mind the Trijicon type night sights it's just the fiber optic ones because to make them work brightly that large fiber tube section needs to be exposed to as much light as possible, so it makes the site look longer and almost unbearably colorful than anything we've seen growing up.

              ^^^ let me add,
I say us old folks know they work, clearly they work and are very bright as long as you have some ambient light.

but they would look much better if they were more traditional in shape and size.

I have fiber optic on my XDs and I love it. Currently with the red but I may install the green if I get bored.

Well, they do have that "giant spoiler attached to the back of a '93 Honda Civic" look to them, but they are indeed functional and work great in lower light conditions.

I used to hate how they look until I tried one. Can't argue with how easy they are to see. And I'm under 30 with 20/20 vision, but still it's a huge difference over regular dot sights.

Have to agree. I think they tend to make firearms look like cheap toys, but then I used one and must admit that they work quite well.

Yeah I think it is generational too. I used to hate them. They looked like toys or should be on toys. More and more people started recommending them and I actually looked through some sights, shot with some, etc... now I like the steel ones with the replaceable tubes like Dawson's and the protected ones like HiViz too.

never thought of them looking cheap, but ever since I decided to try them... I had to have them on all of my guns!
