    Vickers Tactical Slide Stop G43

Do not use the G42 vickers slide stop on your G43! I was told by a gun store employee it would work on my G43 and he was sorely wrong! There is not enough spring tension on the slide stop and the extra recoil of the 9mm will cause the slide lock to bounce up and prematurely lock the slide while there are still rounds in the magazine. I DO NOT BLAME VICKERS TACTICAL for this because it is not advertised as compatible with a G43. I am just warning any other G43 owner that is told the 42 slide stop will work for your 43.

Usually this is a sign of improper assembly. Everytime I've seen someone with a bouncing Glock slide lock, it was user error during assembly. I have fixed a couple on the range when I saw people struggling with the slide locking after almost every shot.

The Tangodown website, who makes a lot of the stuff for Vickers, says it is for both. And places like Midway and Glockmeister advertise it as being for both.

TangoDown - Known for Vickers Tactical Upgrades for Glock. Our reputation for unique design and quality manufacturing of weapon components has earned us first choice when it comes to stepping into harm’s way.

The Vickers website hasn't been updated in a year. I wouldn't look to it for current info.

Mine may have came with a bad spring, but it is so prevalent that the malfunction can be duplicated by manually cycling the slide too.

I've had zero malfunctions with the factory slide stop.

Well it interesting to note that the factory Glock armorers order form has different part numbers for G42 and G43 slide locks. I will take my G42 and G43 slide stops out later this afternoon and compare them. Maybe there is some difference of consequence...

I just swapped the spring from the factory 43 slide stop with the Vickers 42 slide stop spring and reinstalled. Still the same mushy slide stop with tons of slop and not enough tension.

When I push the pin back in, if I don't push it all the way, and the slide stop pin hole is on the thicker part of the pin before the two cut outs where its thinner (hard to explain I know), there's enough tension for the slide stop to work effectively. But as soon as I push the pin in all the way, the slide lock sets into the cutout on the pin and no longer has enough tension.
