Another Glock or new m&p ?

Little back story. I tried so hard to not buy a glock but eventually purchased one in a g19. Years later, im looking at buying another pistol and i originally had talked my wife into an m&p so she would leave my glock alone. Bought her the m&p last week and now i want hers.

Both feel perfect in my hands and even more perfect with talon grips or some stippling.

Im trying hard not to like the m&p but just cant. Also, i just realized when comparing the two, when i point the glock im normally high and have to bring it down. Whereas the m&p is natural as can be.

I know i should go with something where i have a natural poa. But what do you guys think?

I love the m&p but I hate the stock triggers. After owning a Glock, you will not be happy with the m&p trigger. However, if you have a good trigger job done the m&p is a much better gun. I also prefer a full size gun over the Glock 19 as a range gun. I've also heard good things about the apex trigger replacements, but I don't have any experience with those.

Both solid firearm.. stock trigger for sure M&P no good..

What model/caliber? If you are staying with 9mm a G34 would be a sweet addition, and the mags would work in your G19...

Feeling in the hand in one thing, shooting it is another. I loved the feeling of the M&P Full Size in my hand and still do. Shooting it accurately with the stock trigger is more difficult for some than for others. If you have good trigger control, you will do well. If you don't, you may not shoot is as accurately as you think you should. Even if you shoot other guns well, the M&P will exaggerate your faults where a 1911 or SA revolver may mask poor trigger discipline and still be accurate (first hand experience).

The Apex FSS kit eliminates many of these problems, but it does add another $100+ to the price tag plus the mags are more expensive than the common Glock mags and service parts are somewhere between "hard to get" and unobtainable although you can get any worn or failed part replaced for free so long as you are willing to send the gun in (for free) and wait.

The M&P 40c or 9c would be the closest to the G19 but remember, the only S&W autoloading handguns on roster are the Shields and the SD9VE and SD40VE. You will have to pay Kommifornia premiums for used M&P fullsize and compact guns.

As the others say, shoot them and judge for yourself.

I agree. P320 points naturally and has a much better trigger than both.

Sheesh!! VP9! No wait, PPQ! No Wait P320!! No wait.......

                  No G's here but a few M&Ps (and VP9, PPQ, 320)

If you got Glocks, happy with Glocks, then stay Glocks. Same operation, interchangeable mags/parts. Keep it simple (KIS).

Looking for something similar enough yet still different? Shoot the M&P. Embrace the M&P.

And wait for the SA crowd to chime in.

M&P with forward set APEX trigger. Costs an extra $129 (amazon), but is worth every penny!

Feels almost like a 1911 trigger!

                          I'd go G26 or G17.

                          Cross platform compatible, interchangeable mags..

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.
