Calling the FFL makes sense, especially since not all FFL's are fully knowledgeable about the laws governing their own business and may tell you to bring something else too.

I just spoke with the DOJ and they say NO, you must have a DMV print out too.. How long to get an appoinment with local DMV---3 weeks.. Damn had one all lined up I wanted too..

In my experience AAA can't do the H6 form. Give them a call to verify.
The shops I've been to are fine with valid car registration showing correct address to be used to correct driver's license and as the second address verification.

Calling DOJ is not necessarily a way to get good information.

Try just showing up at the DMV around 4:30 pm. They will still be taking walk-ins at that time, but right around 4:45 you will find all the employees magically speeding up as they try to get everyone out by 5. I've done this multiple times in the OC/SGV area and I've never made an appointment or waited more than 30 minutes.

Get the DMV printout... My last DMV appointment was 35 days from the day I made the appointment.

The illegal drivers license has flooded the system.

AAA is the way to go..

Always call the FFL. DOJ may be wrong or right and it doesn't matter, the FFL may like doing it wrong or have other policies.

Bring the change of adress and if that doesn't work have a backup lease agreement

^^ exactly. DOJ doesn't always seem to know the right answer, and will seldom ever give anything in writing.

I've done PPT's without a correct address on my DL. The FFL's would request 2 additional forms of proof of residency instead of the 1.

This has been my experience also. I usually just show up with a file with various documentation of my address (car registration, utility bills, C&R FFL, amateur radio license, etc.) and let the FFL pick and choose whichever ones they're most comfortable with.
