    Looking for Handgun Training

Greetings all.. Im looking to take some lessons. After a few trips to the range i realize that i stink at pistol shooting. I have been looking on the net and have found two schools.

Concealed, ccw, concealed carry, firearms, pistol, shotgun, carbine, rifle, training, shooting, guns, handgun, gun, gun training, firearms training, pistol training,

has anyone ever heard of these schools?? Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Also i need a ladies course for my girl.

    thanks again

      Hooker? Don't you mean Johnston?

Both schools teach real world tactics, they both are highly recommended.

FTA is good but I see them geared more toward teaching tactics and drills.

TJ is one of the best and has classes geared toward the fundamentals of shooting.

Bruce gray of gray guns is highly regareded as both a gunsmith and teacher, seach for him on sigforum.com

www.allsafedefense.com - TJ is a great guy and can get you spun up on the basics, if that's what you're looking for. NRA firearms classes and also instructor certification classes if that's a goal at some point.

www.ftatv.com - Bill Murphy and company can handle a range of requirements. Basic (recreational) firearm classes, basic handgun, tactical handgun, concealed carry handgun (as well as the CA CCW class itself), night shooting, etc etc. Bill is a SoCal SWAT officer and a great instructor.

www.tftt.com - Don't go to TFTT needing basic handgun tutoring. Max Joseph is a former Recon Marine who has been doing EP & PSD for a loooooong time. You show up ready to shoot, not jawjack. The TacPistol I / II / III courses will seriously challenge you if that's what you're looking for.

www.internationaltactical.com - Haven't had the opportunity to train with ITTS yet, but it's on the agenda for one of my breaks back at home. HIGH on the agenda, if that'll tell you anything.

I personally have trained with AllSafe, FTA and TFTT. I'll recommend all of them for their particular strengths and would spend the $$$ to continue training with them.

Like I said, ITTS is high on the "To Do" list for when I'm back stateside.

All of these outfits welcome lady shooters. FTA has a "Ladies Pistol / Self Defense Awareness" class available and AllSafe Defense has the "Refuse To Be A Victim" class as well as the NRA Personal Protection class.

If you need more info or opinion, feel free to ask or shoot me a PM.

I was fortunate enough to take Bruce's class in Sacramento, CA earlier this year. I had an absolute blast. I got tons of one-on-one instruction and the staff did an excellent job identifying my bad habits. The thing that I really liked was that I came away with a course of action to continually improve my technique. I cannot say enough good things about the GrayGuns staff!

I saw that 45R had posted a link to the Bruce Gray Class In SoCal. I would highly recommend this course. If work permits, I may be there for the Friday class.

Tacfire is pretty good. I have never gone to any ITTS classes, but have heard nothing but praise from my friends who have gone. Its run by LAPD SWAT guys.

I have been shooting with West coast Tactical out of Torrance for a little while now... http://wct.4t.com

Small class size and rather good instruction.. Fred knows what he is doing and the class is pretty fun too...
