The 20 is easily the most fun you can have with a Glock and damn practical too. Decent amount of flip but not as much as you might expect. I see you're in Burbank. I work at the Firing Line there and often recommend our G20 to anyone looking to rent a more powerful polymer gun. So far I have had zero customers dissatisfied with that recommendation.

I haven't tried the subcompact version, and I don't care to shoot 10mm out of a subcompact polymer gun.

A couple of recent threads. Bottom line. Yeah, an awesome platform if you reload.

What is the preferred platform? G20 or G29? I imagine the only time I will carry this gun would be hiking so larger platform won't be that much of an issue.

Only recommend getting 10mm if you are going to reload.

No reason to go G29 unless you're going for CCW, and then it would be an odd choice anyway.

Go with the G20. More rounds and it will most likely be an OWB option if you are hiking. I would hate to have a couple less rounds because I wanted to go with the slightly smaller version.

Plus, the extra weight, length and handle size make it easier to shoot, get more velocity, and you have a longer bore sight for a little more accuracy.

if you have smallish hands, get the 20SF version. I also outfitted the gun with a heavier spring. Can't remember the weight off the top of my head. I actually like the reset and the trigger pull isn't too bad. Other than the spring, I didn't change a thing. This gun is also a hiking gun if I were to be in bear country, or if I hunted, it would probably be a standard carry for hunting as a backup pistol to my rifle.

                I run 180s and 200s.

                  Here's a vid.
My advice. Get a 20sf and keep it stock. Don't shoot any wild high powered hot ammo. I don't think it's needed

If I ever get into shooting 10mm again and want to play around with nuclear loads i'd get a G20. But if I have the extra cash I would love to own a Dan Wesson 1911 Razorback in 10mm once again, I definitely regret selling it..

Why bother getting a 10mm then? That's like recommending a .357mag and telling someone to only shoot .38's.

I have a glock 20. Fun gun to shoot and you can shoot some fairly hot loads through it too. I'd recommend not shooting too much high power stuff like buffalo bore hard cast loads but makes a great hiking pistol if you're allowed to carry it where ever you are. If you have any questions, you can pm me if you want and I'll answer to the best of my ability and the experience I've had with my glock 20.

G29 and G20 are two of the best platforms Glock ever made. My 10mm Glocks are the softest shooting 10mm guns I have ever owned.

Like others have stated, if you reload you will get the most from the platform, but if not, Underwood makes reasonably priced full power 10mm ammo, it will light up the lanes next to you at the range, real wow factor.

If you don't live in the wrong city, you can buy Underwood ammo online directly on their website. If you do live in the wrong city, have a friend who doesn't order it for you.

If you buy a G20 or G29 (probably the ultimate woods carry), you likely won't regret it.
