    Does this revolver exist?

I've been doing the google thang and can't seem to find the answer.

    I'm wondering if a Smith & Wession 686 Plus, 3", pre-lock, exists.

    TIA guys!

I don't think so. The 686 plus from what I can find was introduced after the Clinton lock was put on the revolver's.

I do not know if the 3" barrel version exists, but the 7 shot pre lock does. It is a 686-5 plus. There are some dash 5's with the lock, but most I have seen do not have it.

Not sure about the 3". I know the 2 1/2" was made pre-lock.
Not sure if Lew Horton or some other company ordered any pre-lock 3" barrel
          686 or not.

686 plus came out in the -4 era, so it's certainly pre-lock. That's one of my bucket guns.
