Glock Stippling

I'm not sure that going through the effort of buying a Gen 4 is worth it. Are they more accurate or dependable? My Gen 3's have been solid. But again, I already own the G22 and I'm looking to freshen it up. I bought it from a cop about 6 years ago and it has a good amount of holster wear. I like stippling for function as well as look. In 100F weather I have to constantly wipe my palms when shooting outdoors.Comment

So I just received my G22 from getting stippled. I decided to go ahead and have the same Calgunner that many of you recommended do it. He goes by the username RRTACTICAL and here is the link to the ad for his services: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1067044
I've got to say that I couldn't be happier with his work. I was able to request the stipple go up at an angle and wrap around the top rear/beavertail area of the grip. Not only that, but the turnaround time is unmatched. He received my frame on Friday, and it was in the mail on its way back to me by Monday morning! Top quality work!

That looks great! What are your plans for the slide?
You really brought that G22 back to life....

Thanks. I'm really happy with the stipple job. I think the very next thing I am going to do is attempt to straighten the dust cover area of the frame according to this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=779393
I am going to get it cerakoted but haven't made my mind up on what I want to do just yet. I am deciding between doing just the slide or having the slide and the frame (except the stipple portion) cerakoted in either a single color or doing something with a pattern.
I am going to change out all the springs and do a trigger job. Not just the $0.25 trigger job from youtube. I am going to attempt to refine the seer to eliminate creep, remove the gritty take up, and reduce the overtravel as much as possible. I have spoken to gunsmith that has worked on custom Glock triggers for many years and have a good idea of what is needed to achieve that. I also have a custom trigger that I like for visual reference too... Whether I have the right touch or not is the question because its easy to screw things up from what I have been told. Either way, at $13 a pop for a new OEM Glock trigger I figure it's ok if I fail a couple of times in my attempts. I'm attempting to do the trigger myself more out of interest than trying to avoid buying a custom drop in trigger. But hopefully i'll get a half decent result without messing up too much.
So hopefully at the end of this little project my oldest Glock is going to handle a lot better and look very refreshed.Last edited by CaliF1; 08-12-2015, 11:06 AM.Comment
