Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel for Glock 35 shooting high and right.

I bought a Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel from MidwayUSA for my Glock 35. At the same time I switched out the stock sights for Ameriglo Spartans. I took it to the range and it was 2.5" shooting high and right at 10 yards. I wasn't sure if it was my new sights or my new barrel. I put a couple hundred more rounds through it to see if the barrel/slide interface would settle down and start shooting straight, but it never did.

So I put the stock .40 barrel back in and it shoots dead on as far as windage and a half inch high as far as elevation at 10 yards. So it wasn't the sights. It was the barrel.

I contacted Storm Lake and they told me to send the barrel in. I waited a few weeks and never heard from them. So I emailed them and they told me they couldn't fix the barrel so they were sending me a new one.

The new one came and shoots about the same as the old one. It might be slightly better than the old one at 2" high and right.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? Maybe I should ask for a refund and try a Lone Wolf conversion barrel.

    Hi,
I have a lone wolf conversion barrel for my glock 35, and as far as I can tell (and shoot), it seems to be dead on. Also, after about 500 rounds, I haven't had any malfunctions, and I just changed the barrel, not the extractor or any other part. I also have a Lone Wolf conversion for my Glock 27 and have had similar experience (but less rounds to be fair) with that one.

So Lone Wolf worked well for me. 9mm is cheap these days too!

    Good luck.

It is about 99% it is the sights. Do some research on the proper front sight height on the G34/G35.

If that SL barrel is even a few thousandths undersized, it will not be as accurate as the factory barrel.
Measure OD of factory barrel and SL barrel.
If they are same...it's something else.

Sorry to hear you having problems with your barrel, I've put 150 rounds thru my converted 35 and its pretty accurate. Wonder what the issue is? Did they send you a new barrel or the same one? How could it shoot exactly the same as the one u returned?

It isn't the sights. Please re-read what I wrote.

Yes, it appears they sent me a new one. If they sent the old one back, they put it in a new package. The new one also shot slightly better than the old one. Or perhaps it was just me or a statistical variance.

Have you had someone else shoot it yet? Different types of ammunition?

3 brands of ammo, same results. I've shot hundreds of different handguns, it isn't me. And if it is me, why don't I have a problem with the stock barrel?

Have measured the OD of the barrel with a caliper ??
If slightly undersized it may have a few extra thousand of clearance at the slide bushing it rides in.
Or maybe the chamber lug might be a few thousands off and might not be seating correctly in the slide when firing. (undersized ?)

So, if you want to solve this, your gonna have to either measure it and be sure of the dimensions.
Or have a decent gunsmith figure it out for you, or send it back, or sell it, or do nothing.
