Range report new RIA tac 5 1911

I put about 60 rounds of federal threw my 1911 today. Not a single malfunction. My friend brought his Glocks in 40 & 45. Yes the glock is a fine gun but from a beginners standpoint the trigger on the RIA is hands down better to stay on target than the 2 glocks. my problem with them was way to much creep and not as crisp a break. I was able to shoot tighter groups with the 1911.
The only minor problem i had was the rear site windage started to move to the left and i did not have the proper allen wrench with me. Also my friend had some hand loads that fired ok in my gun but he made them slightly longer than new retail 45 ACP and after 2 rounds feeding the mag they would stick in the mag. they fit the Glock mag ok but not the 1911. the hand loads were about .020 thou longer than normal new ammo.
I am in no way slamming Glocks, their popularity speaks for its self.I cant give you a answer of how accurate it is because i am not good enough with a pistol to give a honest evaluation of the Glock or 1911. I sure did have fun though.

Next range trip, take blue or red loctite with the needed Allen wrench to tighten the rear sight once you're sure it's still where you want it.

Blue will do fine unless you are absolutely positively certain you won't be wanting to move that sight without applying generous quantities of heat.

Good stuff, I really want an RIA 2011 but I don't think any are on the roster.

Congratz on the 1911. A 1911 is an addiction. You will really enjoy slinging lead with that new pistol.

If you already haven't, get some training and that will help your ability and be a TON of fun to boot! One of the best deals around is Front Sight. 4 day handgun and certificates abound for them. You will definitely emerge a better shooter and an experience of a lifetime. Plus, you get to do stuff they just won't let you do at most ranges in California (holster work, rapid-fire, shoot houses).

Oh, and pics or it never happened! LOL!

          Happy shooting and be safe!

There are a few RIAs on the roster that you can find under "Armscor Precision" but it's kinda confusing for sure.
