    Need Glock 17 Barrel advice

I convinced my brother to buy his first gun a while back, a beautiful G17 from a member here.

For XMas, Id like to get him a new barrel for it. Ive been looking at the lone wolf stainless ones. He uses it specifically for target shooting. Are these worth the money? Any other brand you would recommend? Any first-hand experiences are welcome, as always. Thanks!

KKM Precision is a better barrel. Storm Lake is also very good. Both are better than LWD.

Why not just another Glock barrel?

I have a Lone Wolf conversion barrel and it sucks; very unreliable.

I have the lone wolf barrel in my glock 17. It runs just as good as the factory barrel and is accurate. Does your brother reload and shoot lead? Stock barrels are fine if he shoots fmj factory ammo not lead. I reload, that's why I got mine. For the price of the barrel or less you could get some nice aftermarket sights and maybe a 3.5 connector. Just a thought. Mark

Thats not a bad idea; He is a rookie shooter and has no idea about reloading. I just want to buy him something for his G17 that would make him want to go to the range more often. If any of you have suggestions on the "must have G17 upgrades" lay them on me. Theres nothing I want to see more than him at the range.

Unless there is something wrong with the barrel just buy him ammo, if that doesn't help get him to the range you'll just have to tie him up and drag him there.

+1 sights and connector, and/or buy extra ammo and magazines for practice, practice, practice

Get some night sights. Also the easiest "upgrade" is the 2.5 job. Look that up on Glocktalk.com

Oh and also +1 on the KKM barrel!

QFT. Glocks really don't need much in the way of upgrades. Night sights are good and maybe a quality holster as well.

Get a KKM or Storm Lake conversion barrel.

You might want to fix the title

Get him a .22 conversion. It's just like getting him another gun. The conversion will pay for itself in ammo savings in less than 2,000 rounds.

                            50 rounds of .22=$3.00 50 rounds of 9mm=$13.00

                            After 500 rounds, you'll save $100.

I've had good experience with Bar-Sto, KKM and Jarvis barrels
