So i have thuroughly searched the threads for a clear answer but still cant find it. First, i purchased an MPA mini 9 (mac 10 clone) side cocker with the fake suppressor attached with epoxy via PPT today.
Here is what im trying to figure out as far as my best option going forward and could use some help:
1. is the epoxy method of "permanent attachment" no good? must it be welded? I know S&W used locktite to make those walther P22's ca legal but not sure if an LEO would be comfortable knowing my barrel attachment is not welded.
2. is that fake suppressor considered a "shroud"? i dont think so because it doesnt enclose the barrel it just threads onto it but ive seen other people who seem to think it is; hence, do i have a problem even if i have the fake suppressor (barrel extension) properly welded on?
3. Can i just have a bullet button installed to avoid all of the mess with the threaded barrel and have at it with all the attachments? (fake suppressor, muzzle break, thread protector, etc)
4. If i were to purchase a top cocking full upper from MPA with the NON threaded barrel, and keep the pistol in a detachable mag configuration, am i in the clear as far as it not being an AW?
any accurate insight here is greatly appreciated because im ready to pull my hair out, or just go the bullet button route.
