    Springfield Professional Magazines

Bought a SA Professional a few months ago, it was a used PPT. Some of the mags are giving me FTF issues and the hood looks pretty worn, so I'm guessing some of the followers/springs need replacing. Does anyone know how Springfield "tunes" these mags, and can I change the springs and followers without screwing up the tuning? I've tried searching but can't find the answer, cheers guys!

I'm not sure how to fix this problem the upside I see in this issue is that you have a Professional!

Call Springfield they'll know immediately and be willing to help. Great customer service.

Same exact issue I was having. Sent it back to SACS on Tuesday with all of the mags. I was also having the same issue with ETM's and 47d's, all with various types of ammo. This only ever happened on the first round though.

Did they say how long it'll take to turn it around? The problem for me disappears when I switch to my normal pool of 47D's. I have some Tripp Power 7 kits coming in, maybe I'll switch em out and see how it goes.

I didn't ask and it really doesn't matter to me, I've got plenty of other guns to shoot. Past experience with SACS has been around 4 weeks turnaround though. Were your rounds jamming high into the hood?

I believe so, the round would stop with the bullet pressed against the hood. It was happening on the last round though as opposed to the first. I'll give them a call Monday and see what they say.

I will be surprised if the Tripp kits don't fix the problem.

If it is happening on the last round I'm going to guess worn mag springs.

Thanks for the offer! Since these mags are the ones matched to the Professional I'm going to try to rebuild kits first, but when my regular pool of mags start wearing too I will definitely be hitting you up.
