    Glock 19 Sights

So the Glock 19 - Need suggestion on which model to purchase

    1. Adjustable Sights
    2. Fixed Sights
    3. Steel Fixed Sights
    4. Night Sights

I think I like the idea of Steel Fixed Sights since they're stronger than the polymer and they can't be moved. So every time I pick up the pistol I'll know my sights are true. Thoughts?

I say night sights, you get the benefit of better structural integrity like you want from the steel sights, as well as the advantage of having sights to use at night in a possible home defense situation.

If you're planning of using your pistol for self defense that may occur during dark hours then night sights makes sense.

What is the use of the pistol????

          Target/Defence/Combat/Speed

That being said I always recommend night sights...

I'd agree, when my original sights on my 19 got banged up I replaced them with night sights, mostly for the structural integrity of them. They do work well in darkness, but if it's dark enough to see them, how can you be sure what/who you are firing at? Sort of the age old question I guess...but I sure do like the new sights better.

I put the truglo TFO's on my 19c, I was shocked how bright they can be in complete darkness. I picked them up at a turners and they lady told me to take them into the bathroom and close the door. As soon as I saw them in the dark I was like I'll take these. I didn't ever look at any others though so I can comment on them. I did the same you are doing, getting opinions from everyone else. If you know somewhere you can look at different sights in person do that and find what works for you. Oh and I installed them myself, pretty easy, and they were accurate after installation too. Just my two cents. Good luck.

My choice would be to go for the cheapest Glock available, the one with the cheapie plastic fixed sights. I'm probably in the minority here, but I absolutely hate the sight picture offered by both the Glock and USP. Thus, I've changed them out for something better

Here would be my suggestion for replacement sights. The straight 8s pick up faster for my use, as well as providing a much cleaner sight picture for daytime target use.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We recently redesigned our website and many of our links have changed.…

Night sights are helpful in low light surroundings for aimed shots. I doubt that if you are woken up in the middle of the night in a high pressure situation you are going to look at your sights. It is usually a point and shoot muscle memory situation.

+1 on that sentiment. Save you cash on the night sights and invest in a rail mounted light instead. Streamlight TLR-1s can be had for like $80 chucks.

It'll help you see whatever you're aiming at

Here's a crappy pic of my G19 with the TLR-1 and Crimson Trace grips.

And no, I don't have too many mags.

Everyone here who is dogging on night sights has obviously never looked through a good set of them in LOWER light situations. No sights work if you cannot see the intruder. What about a dark silhouette? Better believe my three bright green dots will be trained on you until I know who you are. I like lights as well. Does no harm to have both.

Not too many mags, but too many battery-dependent items on it for my taste. Make sure to cock it before you gotta use it, too

I like the Warren Tactical's with blank rear and tritium front on my 19.

I like the Dawon FO front / Heinie Rear or Dawson FO front / Dawson rear adjustable on the game Glocks.

The Sevigny Comp sights also are nice but the rear notch shows too much light for my liking. A lot of people do like/ use them though.
