    CZ questions..

got a couple questions... just got my kit from CGW:

    SRS2 kit
    Trigger Pin, etc.

Do you guys polish the extended firing hammer and also the lifter arm from CGW?

i'll be polishing all the internals... so just wondering if pin and lifter arm from CGW needed to be polished?

also, on a side note.. are there extended mag base plate for my P01 mag? not sure if the one for the SP01 will fit my P01?

    thanks.

I just finished up my CGW/SP-01 make over. I did not polish the firing pin or the lifter arm. The lifter arm is a beautifully machined part and I could not feel any burrs on the extended firing pin.

I purchased and installed the following from CGW. SRS-2 kit, T2 disconnect, extended firing pin, front and rear sight set, 85C trigger with reduced trigger return spring, race hammer and adjustable sear, stainless guide rod and 11# recoil spring (I used the 11.5 hammer spring). I did the recommended polishing. Although I don't have a trigger gauge, I would estimate the DA pull went from about 13# to around 6# and the SA pull from 6# to around 2#

Here are a couple pics. Hope to get to the range today to check it out. So far, I am very happy with the CGW results.

I would say there is no need to polish the CGW lifter. Maybe a quick buff should be ok.

The shadow base plates will fit the P-01, but you need to have the CZ Compact 16 round (9mm) mag to begin with. There are no extended base plates for the 10 rd mags due to the mag body not being full length.

If you have 10 round cz factory mags, this one is the only one I know of:

This type is good if you just want something to grab onto. I was thinking the OP might be wanting an extended base plate for the additional grip length/pinky rest. If not, then this type might be what he is looking for.

I use hoppes to scrub off any rust from the extended firing pin but i do not polish it. In case you are not already aware, do not put any lube/grease on the firing pin or firing pin channel inside the slide. It is not needed and can attract and hold grime. This can lead to premature failure down the road.

I polish the part of the FPB lifter arm that contacts the FPB. Little polishing is needed, those parts usually come in pretty smooth.

I wish i could say the same for the first two CZs i worked on. I was sure that area would benefit from some grease.......

tok36: i knew when i first took apart my P01.. there was some oil residue in there from the factory. i read somewhere on CZ forums that to run some degreaser fluid or rubbing alcohol through it to remove it. i did that and use the duster to blow it out. and since i polished the ext.FP, i use a patch with a dap of ballistol and rub a bit on there for the shine and wipe off with another patch before putting everything back in.

Oh maaaan! When I was changing my PCR firing pin with the CGW extended one, I noticed the stock FP was nicely lubricated along with the FP tunnel... SO I lubed the new CGW FP and the spring prior to installation. Now I have to pop it off and clean it all

guest1: yes u do need to clean all that out. i'd use a degreaser and do a soak, rinse and blow it out with a duster... make sure to use the duster from the FP hole out to the back of the hammer..
