I'm just curious if the Detonics Combat Master will accept drop in 1911 parts like a light weight trigger, or a combat hammer, or even a different slide stop without any major modifications.

Detonics Combat Master 1911 parts compatibility

Looking at mine (older mk VI), it looks like it would take a slide stop, but the hammer might not work- you;d have to try it. I know the hammer strut is a different design, and their mainspring housing might be odd too (or it may be a std. pachmayr housing- not sure). I would guess the trigger would work. mine si too 'collectible' for me to mess with it, so I left it stock.

Thanks saki, I saw a couple Combat Masters that are priced reasonably. They're not safe queens and show definite signs of use. I thought maybe if I pick one up I could spruce it up a little with some drop in 1911 parts. Another question, is it DOJ approved as long as its a Combat Master?Comment
